Building Christlike family relationships
Families Unite Through Christ
Last month, we had the opportunity to listen to our living prophets which helped me realize what a blessing it is to have the restored Church in our lives. As we enter the month of May, my hope is that we can focus our hearts and minds on the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This pivotal event in history is not just a collection of past accounts, but a living, breathing reality that continues to bless our lives every day.
One of the greatest outcomes of the Restoration is the presence of living prophets in our day. We are not left to navigate the difficulties of the modern world alone; rather, we are guided by those who hold the same keys and authority as the apostles of old. Their voices provide a steady foundation and clear direction, acting as a Liahona that points us toward the Savior.
Through the Restoration, we have been given the Book of Mormon as a second witness of Jesus Christ and a source of clear guidance for our daily lives. We are also blessed with priesthood authority to receive saving ordinances and find peace through the Gift of the Holy Ghost—all while resting in the restored knowledge that we are literal sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father.
Having faith in the restored gospel means more than just accepting these truths; it means letting them anchor us through life’s inevitable storms. When we exercise faith in the Savior and the work He has restored, we find a sense of purpose and a "brightness of hope" that the world cannot offer.
This month, I invite you to reflect on how the Restoration and the words of our prophets have personally blessed your family. Whether it is through the comfort of temple covenants or the clarity of modern-day revelation, these blessings are evidence of God’s love for us. I am grateful for your faith and for the privilege of serving alongside you in our amazing ward.
With love,
Bishop Finlinson
Congrats to our graduating Seniors!!
2026 Senior Spotlights
Beth Rogers has earned the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and German from Maple Mountain High School and studied flight at the Advanced Learning Center. After graduation, she plans to serve a full-time mission and then attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Beth loves to travel, but she will miss her dog tons.
Grace Chournos It's official! Grace is a graduate! Grace has changed the game in our home. Because of her, we are now a family that knows about tennis, pottery, string instruments, and perfectly painted nails. She is a force of nature. She coached tennis to 100+ kids, engaged in law firm internships, MYCC, Springville youth court, and earned her Associates Degree and scholarship. Grace loves children, volunteering, and learning new things. She raised four Parrotlets from hatchlings (yes, really!) We are so proud of her desire to lift her friends and community, and her upcoming mission to Natal, Brazil! After her service, she is off to BYU in 2028.
JP Agle (or Jimmy, if you’re into that name) continues to amaze his family. He has done well in school, graduating with honors. He has focused a lot on video production, making a number of films, some winning awards. He has enjoyed some travel experiences and looks forward to more. He is deciding his future that will likely include more production and hopefully more adventures.
Michael Parrotti After a challenging senior year that included many trials and balance with blessings, Michael is thrilled that he is graduating from High School!!! Michael will submit his mission papers after graduation. Following his mission he plans to attend BYU with a scholarship to stunt for their cheer team. Michael and four of his friends stunted with the MMHS cheer team. They won the State Championship. Michael is grateful for the support he received from Bishop Dyer, Bishop Finlinson, Brother Bone, Brother Houtz, Brother Snyder, Brother Beccera, and Brother Nelson. Their kindness, willingness to serve, guidance and examples positively influenced his life.
Neleh Quist is a kind, strong-willed young woman with a laser-straight moral compass. She completed her high school requirements in December and has been serving as a SkillsUSA officer while also gaining hands-on experience through a welding internship.
Within 20 minutes of learning she was eligible to serve a mission at age 18, she had already reached out to the Bishop to begin the process. She has been called to serve in the Gilbert, Arizona mission, beginning July 1st.
