Ward History
The Mapleton 26th ward was formed in July 2019. The first bishop called to preside over the ward was W. Justin Dyer. The original 26th Ward Council included the following:
1st Counselor: Michael Bird
2nd Counselor: Jeremy Bone
Clerk: Donald Blackburn
Executive Secretary: Thomas Quist
Elders Quorum President: Paul Snyder
Relief Society President: Connie Collier
Young Women President: Caren Winters
Young Men President: Jed Finlinson
Sunday School President: Aaron Chournos
Primary President: Anita Bennion
During preliminary discussions, the ward council decided that unity among ward members would be their main focus. This would be accomplished through personal outreach efforts and social activities. As families move into and out of the ward, we seek new ways to strengthen each other.
Karl Allan and Marvin Nelson were later called upon to serve as counselors to Bishop Dyer.
A new bishopric was sustained March 3, 2024. Jed Finlinson was called as bishop, Karl Allan as 1st Counselor, and Ryan De Jesus as 2nd Counselor.
